How to turn $25 into a succesful Internet Company

Nicolò Turci, 21, is a Business Administration student at IE Univeristy, who founded an Internet

company called SED Web Enhancement Ltda.
The company, at first, mainly started in order to assist his main project; a promotional
platform

for professionals and individuals, where they can be hired based on schedule, preferences and

other things. Now the operations of the firm have expanded to web solutions (such as web

design and development, SEO, corporate branding, social media marketing) in order to finance

the expenditures of the main project and to favor the expansion of the firm.

The platform is currently working in the USA, the servers are located in Czech Republic and the

company is in Brazil at the moment.

Q: How did you come up with the idea?
A: While I was reading an article by a Japanese journalist, by reading just one word, my

subconscious just showed me the whole idea. It was random but it was the result of years of

Internet experience and entrepreneurial mindset. In fact, since I was 14 i was trying to make

money in one way or another; I was reselling cellphones on Ebay, which were imported from

China, I was applying mathematical schemes to brake the algorithm behind online casinos,

and I also tried to patent a radio device at 17. However I was rarely successful in the long term.

Q: What are the challenges you faced?
A: The whole development of a web platform may seem easy, but in fact it's really,

really complicated. When you see a web page, just know that 4 other pages had to be

programmed as well in order  to make one single page work. The biggest challenge was

to find the right person partner with, somebody who could help me on the technical side

(I still do not know enough programming languages to develop such a website). In

addition to that, I had to find a suitable country for such a venture. As a matter of fact, at

the time, development of the platform would have been a suicide. Therefore, I

established a limited liability firm in Brasil thanks to the help and residency of a

friend.

Q: What does your business bring new to the market?
A: No need for yellow books, agencies, or friends' referral. You choose the services

that you require, we find you the most suitable professionals who can meet your

budget and schedule.
With this platform you exclude middlemans and planning-related hassles.

Q: Is the business doing well?
A: Fairly well, the platform is 6 months old and usually websites become known after a couple of years. The web solution side of the company is doing well despite the current crisis.

Q: Do you have any competitors?
A: The internet has not yet seen any web platform like ours. Of course, we have similar websites which offer an inferior substitute which can be considered competitors.
The web solutions side has plenty of competitors, from both brick and mortar activities as well as Internet firms. It's really hard to differentiate the company at this early stage.

Q: What are your hopes for growing/ expanding your business?
A: As soon as I get a stable stream of revenue from the platform, I will sell the web solutions branch of the company and focus only on developing our ideas. We plan to expand the promotional platform in Brazil, then Russia, Northern Europe, Eastern Asia, and the Southern Europe (we currently operate in the US).

Q: Where do you see your business in 10 years?
A: I would love to become a similar business as Rocket Internet Gmbh.

Q: If you could give people that have ideas but have problems concretizing an advice what would it be?

A: The biggest myth out there is that you always need money to get an idea running; this is what stops most indivudials. Money is never the problem, don't focus on getting money at first. Focus on bringing on board skillful and valuable people, focus on refining your idea, enhance yourself first.
I bought my first domain at $25 and resold it after 3 month for $1,800. With those $1,800 I developed everything I have now with the help of my partner.
